Message from the President

People often have a hard time pronouncing Emmaus and wonder what significance it has in the name of a Bible college.

Emmaus (pronounced        e-MAY-us) is a biblical name that is connected to one of the greatest teaching experiences in all the Bible. It was on the road to Emmaus that Jesus, just after His resurrection, walked and talked with two disciples who did not recognize Him. It is

said that ". . . beginning at Moses and all the prophets he [Jesus] expounded unto them [the two disciples] in all the scriptures the things concerning himself" (Luke 24:27). Later these two disciples said, "Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us by the way and while he opened to us the scriptures?" (Luke 24:32).

In the same way, the purpose of Emmaus Baptist College is to expound to the students from all the Scriptures the things concerning Jesus. Our instructors, as Jesus did, seek to open the Scriptures to their students so that their hearts may burn as they are plunged into the unfathomable depths of the divinely inspired Word of God.

Jesus is the central theme and the Bible is the core of everything done and taught here at Emmaus. At the same time, if people are to be equipped for ministry they need to know correct English, they need to know the fundamentals of speaking, they need to know how to write intelligently. These are the vehicles used to deliver the Word.

If you have dedicated your life to the Lord in ministry of any kind, why not prayerfully consider Emmaus Baptist College.
